Our roots in Castle Combe
Having lived and worked in Castle Combe for over 30 years, I've done everything from cleaning the village hall to working in the Manor House. It was after working on the bar in The White Hart and receiving numerous enquiries from visitors that I realised the potential to share the rich history of Castle Combe. My love for medieval history combined with my passion for the village where I live led to the creation of Step Back In Time Village Tour.
A unique journey through time
What makes our tours stand out is the unique experience of truly stepping back in time. As we walk through the village, I’ll show you photographs of Castle Combe taken during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras. Standing in those very spots, you'll see how little the village has changed over time. We just have to peel back the layers to uncover its timeless beauty and history.
Sharing the village's living history
I love sharing my knowledge of Castle Combe, much of which I’ve learned over the years, including personal local histories. By sharing its history, we keep it alive for future generations. I also cherish meeting new people and sharing this beautiful village with them, allowing them to experience its charm and stories firsthand.
